Family Of Late Mr Professor Omo Omoruyi At War Over Refusal of the professor's daughter's to see their fathers remain.

THE disagreement between the two daughters of late Professor Omo Omoruyi and their uncles has aborted the scheduled visit of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State to the family of the late political scientist.
Professor Omoruyi died in Benin on October 14, after a protracted battle with cancer. It was learnt that trouble started when the two biological daughters of the deceased, Amenze and Ivie Oyemwen, arrived from their base in Canada and the United States, respectively, two weeks ago and demanded to see the corpse of their father.

However, it was learnt that the younger brothers of the deceased refused them access to the body, saying that they would await the arrival of the Professor Omoruyi’s wife, Joan, and his adopted children in the United States.
The two daughters, argued that they were big enough to take responsibility as regards arrangements for the burial of their father and urged their uncles to give them the free hand to do so.
It was further learnt that their senior uncles in the family agreed with them, following the facts that the duo were biological daughters of the deceased, while the sons in the US were adopted children.
Besides, Omo Omoruyi, in his book entitled My Journey Back to Life, narrated how his wife Joan abandoned him in the US since March 20, 2008, in the midst of his crisis.
He narrated how she excluded him from their home in Everett, United States and never cared about him and how he was managing his ailment.
Following the revelation, it was gathered that the elders of the family had argued that Joan cannot even take part in the burial arrangement since she abandoned their son at his time of need. Besides, they argued that they do not even know the two sons adopted by late Omoruyi.
It was against this background that the Esogban of Benin Kingdom, Chief Edebiri, who is a relation of the late professor, ordered Omoruyi’s younger brothers, led by Pastor Eghosa Omoruyi, to show the two daughters the corpse of their father.
The crisis heightened when one Kehinde Imasogie was beaten up for allowing the two daughters entry into their father’s house.
Governor Oshiomhole, who is currently mourning the deaths of three notable Nigerians, Prof. Omo Omoruyi, Prof. Festus Iyayi and Admiral Mike Akhigbe, and had planned to visit the Omoruyi's, this weekend, with a view to perfecting burial arrangements, called off the meeting.
the two daughters, who raised alarm over their lives to the elders of the family, are now being protected by the police.
