Hudson was joined by fiancé David Otunga and son David, Jr, along with her mentor Clive Davis.

Hudson was reluctant to star in another movie musical until the time was right. She appears in Black Nativity this winter as a single mother who sends her troubled teen to stay with his grandparents during the holidays.
