Top high-calorie foods that you should avoid

We’ve replaced the bag of chips for a fiber-biscuit; we’ve switched to olive oil and low-fat butter; but are we really doing enough? The buzz these days is around low calorie and low fat foods, which is driving more and more people to a healthier lifestyle.
Top high-calorie foods that you should avoidThere are, however, some high-calorie foods that manage to sneak in into our foods without us realising it; so now you know why your diets and workouts aren’t paying off that well. Here we’ve revealed some top high-calorie foods that you should take note of, and avoid.

Candy

Remember yesterday when you got that sudden, irresistible urge to grab a bar of Snickers from the refrigerator and chomp it down? Yes, that’s right-candy, chocolates and anything that looks slurpy and gooey is BAD for your waistline. What’s more, studies have found that consuming fatty and sugary foods, especially a little before bed-time can trigger nightmares and bad dreams; and may also raise the risk of acidity and heartburn.

Fried ‘anything’

Letting go of the chips and fries isn’t gonna be enough. The fried burger patty, vegetable sticks and everything else that you believe is healthy, is actually rich in calories; and by rich, we mean VERY rich.
Stick to baked or steamed substitutes and experiment cooking with little oil at home.

Cheese

Cheese is probably the most controversial food item we could ever speak about. On the one hand it gives your body a good amount of protein and calcium while on the other hand it loads up on the calories, which can ruin all your weight loss attempts.
Avoid the high-calorie cheese. Instead make your own dips with low-fat yogurt and herbs, which are not just healthy but also delicious.

Red meat

Giving in to this particular temptation is quite easy; no matter how hard you try. Red meat is a good source of essential vitamins and minerals, but at the same time, it can foil your plans to fit in those slim jeans you just passed by from your way back home – just saying!
