Moses, 22, who is on a season-long loan from Chelsea, beat his team mate Mikel Obi to the award after members of the public voted for a three-man shortlist that included the two of them and Sunday Mba.
Mikel, however, was voted Nigerian Sportsman of the Year, while former Super Falcons striker Perpetua Nwokocha was named Female Footballer of the Year.
At the elaborate ceremony which held at the Muson Centre in Onikan in Lagos, Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, picked up the Nigerian Coach of the Year Award. Nigerian Football Federation president Alhaji Aminu Maigari, was named Sports Administrator of the Year, while Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State won the Sports Governor of the Year Award.
Sprinter and long jump queen Blessing Okagbare won the Track and Field Star of the Year award while junior athlete Divine Oduduru won the Discovery of the Year Award.
Portugal-based table tennis star Aruna Quadri won the Sports Personality of the Year Award, beating Olumide Oyedeji and Ike Diogu of the Nigerian basketball team De Tigers.
Blessing Okagbare also won the Sports Woman of the Year Award in recognition of her heroics at this year's World athletics Championships.
