Man arrested for stealing used cloths

 
A 29-year-old man, Ibrahim Usman, has been arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, for allegedly stealing three bags containing “used clothes” belonging to one Adeyanju Sunday.
The police said the clothes were valued at N60, 000.
The prosecutor, Francisca Okere, said the incident happened on December 8, 2013 at Lekki Garden Estate Ajah area of the state.

She said, “Usman stole the three bags on December 8, 2013 at 11.15pm at Lekki Garden Estate, Ajah. The three bags contained used clothes valued at N60,000, property of one Mr. Adeyanju Sunday.”
Upon the arrest of the suspect, he was arraigned on a single count of stealing, which was said to be punishable under Section 285(7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.
After the charge was read to him in court, the defendant said he was not guilty and elected summary trial.
The magistrate, Mrs A.T Awoyele, admitted him to bail in the sum of N40,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till January 9, 2014.
