Farmers from Saudi Arabia and neighbouring Gulf countries brought their rarest and most beautiful chicken for a second beauty contest for the domestic birds to be held in the Gulf Kingdom in less than a month.
An auction was also held at the event in a farm in the capital Riyadh on Friday and more than 500 people attended the contest.
Sabq newspaper did not say what price the chickens fetched during Friday’s auction but noted that a chicken was sold for SR7,500 (Dh7,450) at the first auction in October.
Besides chickens, Saudi Arabia has hosted beauty contests for horses, camels and sheep.
