GAY APPLICANTS BESIEGE US, UK, CANADIAN EMBASSIES!

Foreign Embassies in Lagos have had to deal with a remarkably high number of gay Nigerians lately. This is the direct result of the same sex marriage bill signed into law by the president of Nigeria earlier this month.
According to the law, anyone found to be nurturing gay relations or in support of gay activities faces the risk of 14 years in jail.

Since then, countries such as USA and the UK have threatened to level sanctions against Nigeria, with Nigeria remaining firm in its anti-gay resolve.

It should be noted here that Nigeria's citizenry is largely in support of the anti-gay bill.

The law is already in full swing, what with the arrest and arraignment of five suspected homosexuals in Northern Nigeria.

News reports say that the number of gays who have applied for visas out of Nigeria has increased since last week. More specifically, the gays have applied for asylum in countries like the USA, UK, Canada and Germany.

Even though US embassy officials have declined to comment on this development, an anonymous source confirmed the upsurge of applicants. The source would not comment on the sexual orientation of the applicants, however.

The source also noted that, due to the (current) sensitivity of the issue, most applicants wouldn't reveal that they are gay until the visa interview. The source also said that the embassy was likely to give serious consideration to applicants who were gay as their lives were in obvious peril given the homosexual intolerance in Nigeria.
