Church criticized for putting up a poster with phrases from Rihanna/Robin Thicke's songs (PHOTO)

The Mavuno Church Kenya has come under fire for putting up a controversial poster with the heading culled from Robin Thicke's hit "Blurred Lines" The poster which has been trending on Social Media is an advert for a series of sermons to be held during services for the month of March.

It shows a picture of teens in an intimate position  with titles to secular songs including a controversial book title 50 shades of Grey and Friends with a monster,’ a song by Eminem &Rihanna.
A cross-section of social media platform users have termed the move by the church to use the poster as commercialisation and immoral. They feel the church is using this to attract members instead of focusing on winning souls .
The church's leader Pastor D. Kuria defended this saying "
If people’s reception to anything is what determines how you’re going to respond then you won’t go very far. I feel as I look at society, anyone who achieves great things often times goes against the grain of society. Would I tone it down? I don’t know. But what I do know is that we need to be bold,”
